A Few Questions from the floor!

Q. Where can I see The Lewd Tunes Play?

We play most Sundays in Busker Brownes in Galway city. We also play some weekend nights in other venues in Galway.

You can always email Pat to see if we are playing a wedding or a venue near you soon. It’s always better to see your band in a live atmosphere to see how they interact with an audience. Booking bands from “showcase” performances or demo cd alone can be risky as you don’t get to experience the true performance of the band, or may see an alternative line up that may or may not  be there on your special day. 

Q. Do you have multiple bands or numerous version that play on the same night?

No.  Like all great Irish wedding bands, we are just one line up and only concentrate on one wedding per day. You get our  full attention for what is the most special day of your life. All our musicians are well rehearsed and have been playing together for years! We are proud members of The Wedding Band Association of Ireland. One band, one wedding per calendar date.

Q.Are The Lewd Tunes insured?

Yes. We have public liability insurance to cover all venues and events. Always check with your band just in case of any unforeseen incidents. Most venues now require this also.

Q. Do the band use any backing tracks?

No. We are totally live with 7 of the finest musicians in the country playing for your dancing pleasure. There’s no trickery here. It’s all completely live!

Q. How long is the band’s set?

The band typically play a 2.5 hour set which is normally in two halves allowing for a break for teas, coffees etc. We normally kick off at 9 and play until midnight with the break included.

Q. Do you supply a DJ service?

Yes. We work with some of the finest party Galway DJs in the business to make sure you’re guests are dancing from start to finish! We can book the DJ for you to make sure your day is hassle free.

Q. How long does it take the band to set up?

Once the meal and speeches are over, and the dance floor is cleared,  it takes the band averagely 40 mins to get set up and get the party started!

Q. Is possible for the band to set up earlier in the day?

This is only possible in Galway city. If an early set up is required outside of Galway city, an additional cost will apply.

Q. Can you learn a particular song for our first dance?

Of Course! It’s your big day. Once we receive your choice of song three weeks prior to the date, there should be no problem learning it for you. We can also have it played through our top of the range PA system if you prefer the original, and then we get the party started!

Q. How do The Lewd Tunes dress for a wedding?

All the guys in the band wear shirt, pants and jackets. Keeping it smart but cool, while our female vocalist always dresses to impress!

Q.Do I have to do the “garter” and “bouquet”?

No. This is totally up to you. We find this tradition not as popular as in previous years. You can make your mind up and just drop us an email anytime up to the day before!

Q. How do I secure my booking of The Lewd Tunes?

Due to the very high number of enquiries, we  cannot hold dates without a booking fee. To confirm The Lewd Tunes, we require a (non refundable) booking fee of €250. This will be subtracted from the total package cost on the night.

Q. How is payment made to the band?

The balance must be paid on the night in cash before the performance begins or also via bank transfer 7 days before the big day itself. This takes away the responsibility of the best man having to carry the envelope with him all night while trying to dance and fight off the attention of all the bridesmaids!
